"As a kid I loved chocolate but I’d never really tried pure Cacao by itself. I remember drinking it before a skate and feeling really present and energised, which got me thinking about cacao as a plant medicine. I started drinking it in a new way and understanding the properties of this super food in its raw state. With the guidance of Tab (a facilitator of Cacao ceremonies) I started researching all the hype behind this humble little pod full of seeds. I felt inspired by the stories of the Mayans and how they used cacao in a sacred way. To them it was more precious than gold. I love that it opens up the blood vessels so there’s an increase in oxygen pumping through the body and that it’s full of antioxidants. It’s also a powerful source of bliss chemicals which help alleviate stress, depression and anxiety. Making it the perfect pre-skate brew."
